Lula da Silva arrived in Tehran last night at the head of a 300-strong delegation. The meeting between the Brazilian leader and President Ahmadinejad has received international attention as Lula da Silva is trying to broker a deal between Iran and the West over the stalled nuclear fuel swap proposal.
According to reports, Brazil and Turkey have drawn up a joint proposal for nuclear fuel swap.
Iran has announced that fuel swap is feasible based on the Brazil-Turkey proposal.
The issue of supplying the Tehran research reactor with nuclear fuel has become a source of contention between Iran and the West.
